There is a new service available from today where trained pharmacists can prescribe stronger medications including antibiotics for certain conditions such as acute throat infections, ear infections and UTIs. The UTI service has been improved and the pharmacy can prescribe based on symptoms and no longer need to dip a urine sample.
You may find our reception team refer you on to one of our local pharmacies if you have one of these conditions. This frees up space with the ANPs and GPs for more complex patients. It may also mean you are seen quicker and closer to home.
All pharmacists offering this service have had full training and are working from the same guidance we do at the practice.
